Happy Birthday Katherine!

March 20th was my birthday, and what a wonderful day it was! First of all, it rained. I love the rain! What a great way to start my day! We had french toast for breakfast (birthday tradition), and I was totally out of hairspray (tragedy!) so Marc was so sweet to go to the grocery store and buy some at 6:00 in the morning. He also bought me a chocolate doughnut, my favorite food group! :) I went to schoool and my friends made me a birthday card and gave me a Twix candy bar. Thanks Shelli, Keri, and Jess~you guys rock! I had a couple hours between classes so Marc and I went to Mimi's cafe and our friends Richard and Rachel came. We love our friends! I taught a couple classes then I was home free! Marc's family came over for cake and ice cream and we opened presents. Richard and Rachel came over too, of course! Marc got me a gift certificate for a free massage! Sweet! He also got me a HOT PINK ripstick so we can ride together! I also got chocolate, a yoga mat, new decorations for my sign on my door, and lots of love from friends and family! The next day I had lunch with my mom and sisters and little friends (neices and nephews):) Sunday we had a birthday dinner with all my family for the March birthdays~ Happy Birthday Natalie, Garrett, and Brian!

Denver

Yes, we're still alive! This school business tends to consume ALL our time, so here's an update on what's been going on. For spring break Marc and Jill (marc's sis) and I went to Denver to visit Kelly and Roberta (marc's dad and step-mom). We left Friday night to fly out at 9:00 but our flight was delayed three hours so we didn't fly out till midnight. Marc and Jill found the kiddie play area and entertained themselves with the miniature basketball hoop while I delved in to the first vampire book (twilight). We finally got to Kelly and Berta's about 3:00 a.m. The next day Marc and Kelly went golfing while Jill, Berta, and I went to a movie (Penelope-loved it!) and shopping. Berta bought me clothes and a new red wallet for my birthday! That night we watched our Weber State Wildcats lose in the semi-finals :( Sunday we went to church then drove to Marc and Jill's old house in Aurora, where they lived till Marc was 12. It was so fun to see the park where they played, their elementary school, preschool, friends houses, local stores etc... It was a fun drive down memory lane for them. When we drove by their house I insisted that we tell the current owners we were going to take a picture of their house, to avoid awkward conflict. Sure enough, Marc and Jill resisted and as Marc stopped in the road, windows down, camara's aimed at the house with children playing outside, a man walks up to our car and questions us why we're taking pictures of his children. What weirdos! We told him this was the house Marc and Jill grew up in, he was really nice about it. He bought the house from Marc's parents and he updated us on the neighbors and what was going on in the area. I'd heard so many stories about Marc's childhood in Colorado, it was really fun to see where so many memories happened. Monday we went to the 16th street mall in downtown Denver. We spent a majority of our time at the ESPN Zone playing games. We also went to the Denver Mint (where money is made), but the tours were full. Tuesday Marc and Kelly went golfing while Jill and I went to a movie (Definitely, Maybe), and shopping. We had a great day together:) Jill is seriously an awesome sister-in-law:) Wednesday the three of us went to the Denver Museum of Science and Nature. This was really cool, it reminded me a lot of the Clark Planetarium in SLC. We saw an IMAX movie about life under the sea. There were all sorts of stuffed animals from all over the world with fun facts about them. One our favorite parts was the gift shop where we entertained ourselves by recording our voices into these raptor toys that replayed the sounds we made into them. This was so hilarious! I think we changed all of them from their original roar! Ha! That night we went to dinner then headed off to the airport. We had a fabulous vacation and loved seeing Kelly and Roberta (and Roy-the dog). We love our family and our so blessed to feel so much love from them!
